Don’t Be Guilty of Prejudice by Association

You know the saying, “You can tell a lot about a person by who they hang around” is not true most of the time. In reality this is often not the case. Many times people are in groups to feel security, not because they agree with them. This applies to every place and situation in life, even down to schoolchildren. No one knows the story behind why these people are seen together. It could be a myriad of circumstances that brought them together. It’s like a backstory in literature. If you have no idea what happened up till the point you walked in on, then withhold conclusions until you learn about the rest for yourself. One of the most unfortunate facts of life is that people will make conclusions about others based on who they are seen with. People will show their prejudice when they can’t (or won’t) separate talent from beliefs. They will boycott everything a certain person does just because they hold views that are controversial or that they don’t agree with. All because they are associated with a certain contentious person or idea.
